Are myths just made up stories? Or do they connect us with truths that cannot be reached with rationality?

In the below video, we look at myths including the Iliad, Odyssey, Ramayana, and Mahabharata. We see what the myths said about their own nature, as declared by Valmiki, Vyasa, and Homer.

We then see what ancient civilisations thought about these myths, with a focus on Plato and his attacks on Homeric epics.

Then, we come to the modern perspective of two major thinkers in this area: Joseph Campbell and Jordan Peterson. What can patterns across global myths such as the ‘hero’s journey’ tell us about the meaning of life?
